Barbara Gordon as Nadia in The Arab-Israeli Cookbook (2006)
By donating performances, distributing free tickets and offering group discounts, we have provided fundraising initiatives and promoted awareness for organizations such as Supporting Our Youth, The 519, Strengthening Hamilton’s Community Initiative, Scarborough’s Tropicana Community Services, The Triangle Program for LGBT students, Peace Now, Palestine House, the Israeli peace initiative Givat Haviva, Palestine Peace Awareness, the University of Waterloo and Democrats Abroad.
To enhance the theatrical experience, we have recruited subject matter experts to work with our casts in rehearsal and to sit on post-performance talkback panels, inviting compelling dialogue that has extended beyond the expertise of the artists directly involved in the production. We have also actively promoted other artistic and business endeavours, some directly related or complementary to our work (for example, in the theatre lobby for The Arab-Israeli Cookbook, we presented a photography exhibit featuring the work of Israeli and Palestinian students).
We are committed to continuing our community outreach and partnering, both to reach new audiences and to support and enhance our work. If you would like to discuss partnering opportunities or want to get involved as a volunteer or subject-matter expert, please contact Jessica Greenberg, our head of education and outreach.
